The Light Shone in the Darkness

Updated: Sep 18

9/10/2025 - The enemy attempted to snuff out a bright and shining light, but millions of hearts caught fire and are shining far brighter!

Charlie Kirk may have ignited a revolution ...

He was a good man - probably even a great one. He loved God, his wife, family and country (in that order). His faith in Jesus directed all that he did ... he did SO MUCH good and was taken from us far too soon! I dedicate this blog post to Charlie since he has inspired me to be more proactive, bold and courageous about sharing the Way, the Truth and the Life - Jesus Christ!

24 years ago our country was devastated by the terrorist attacks in NYC. We were united against this evil and came together as a country to pray for the victims and oppose wicked and violent ideology. On 9/11/2025 we witnessed a completely different country! Within 1 day of the brutal assassination of a leading conservative voice, the media was flooded by delusional, woke ideologues celebrating, rejoicing, blaming the victim (how many times have we heard, "He dug his own grave."?) and justifying the violent, evil, murder of Charlie Kirk. Our country has come a long way since 9/11/2001. The darkness is being exposed and it is high time for good men to step into the breach and let our voices be heard!

"Evil triumphs when good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke

Writing this blog, 5 days since the coward fired his gun and the haters threw mud on Kirk's warm corps, I am compelled to share my two cents: There are many like me who are disappointed about being silent for so long as the loud minority shout lies into our culture. Charlie was not hateful. He was rarely angry and he wasn't even overly controversial (his words would have gotten majority approval from by both political parties just 25 years ago); he simply was effective, and people hated him for that! Charlie shared the truth boldly to an audience of young people who were often radicalized and indoctrinated by the lies of our times, ie: choose your truth; choose your gender; choose how to define marriage; a child isn't a human until birth; all republicans are racists nazis ... I reject that fantasy world and will no longer be fearful of speaking the truth against it! We may risk being bullied by haters and promoters of this propaganda, but commons sense, natural law and Charlie Kirk propel us onward!

There is a swell of voices echoing this sentiment that is rising up! We attribute this to your heroic witness, Charlie Kirk - THANK YOU for setting off a fire in the hearts of men that will blaze bright across this country!

"The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church."

Division is OK. Polarization is OK. Frustration is OK. VIOLENCE is NOT OK!

"Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. No, I tell you, but division." (Matt 10:34) Jesus was peaceful and loving, but he didn't fear division. There are some things worth being divided over! I will never tolerate the murder of the innocent and vulnerable; I will never unite with slavery or abortion. Unity is not the goal; LOVE is the goal and Jesus is the answer! We can hate wicked ideas, but we cannot hate people. I will not be united with those celebrating or justifying the evil murder of Charlie Kirk! It is a real shame that our country cannot be united against this evil today!

Just like the wicked idea that unborn children are not human, many in our culture are now viewing those who have differing political opinions as sub-human. We can disagree and still love. Having a different opinion does not remove the intrinsic dignity and value of any person. Sadly, it is not shocking to see the dehumanization of the unborn child now extending to the dehumanization of political adversaries! This has gone way too far!

We live in a time that the prophet Isaiah's words ring so true: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." My hope is that the disgusting response to this tragedy exposes the darkness and encourages more brave men and women to shine the light of truth boldly ... and we are seeing it happen before our eyes!

"The light shines in the darkness and the darkness will not overcome it!" - John 1:5

LOVE wins in the end. Love creates while evil destroys! There is no love without truth and there is no truth without love. May the love of Jesus Christ, that same love that burned brightly in the heart of Charlie Kirk, shine ever more powerfully inside each of us today! We must not attempt to retaliate (vengeance is God's), but we will combat the fire of hate with the fire of love. I am encouraged that I am not seeing violence, vandalism and cities being destroyed over this wicked assassination; instead, I am seeing young men and women going back to church, praying, weeping, repenting, falling on their knees and being emboldened by the witness of Charlie Kirk to share the Gospel courageously!

"What the enemy had meant for evil, God will use for good." - Genesis 50:20

There is "nothing new under the sun" and history has a tendency of repeating itself. We've seen horrific evil encouraged during the Nazi regime and I think this assassination has a lot of overlap. When a people group (Jews, Christians, Muslims, Americans, blacks, unborn, political adversaries) is dehumanized, we are capable of terrible things! The line between good and evil runs directly down the center of each of our own hearts. We must "put on the full armor" and be on guard against the darkness of our times. History proves that it is dangerous to go with the flow of the culture - it is the dead salmon that floats downstream - be alert! St Maximilian Kolbe (above) was a heroic witness of his time. He started a monastery, massive media publication and radio station proclaiming the Gospel. The Nazi's tried to cancel him, silence his voice and shut down his influence. They took him to the concentrations camps where he ended up sacrificing his life for another prisoner and was killed. He continues to inspire: his story lives on and a movie about him actually launched this past weekend!

A line has been drawn and a tether has been cut that can not be uncut - September 2025 will not be forgotten - the incredible tragedies and the response of our country (both the good and the bad)! May Jesus' banner wave proud; let your voices be loud "we will not be silenced, we will not forget, we will let Christ's light shine through us!" Our culture has been experimenting with the woke delusion for too long and it's fruit is disgusting!  ENOUGH!

12 years ago I started "beAst. ministries" (be a saint) encouraging people to live out their faith boldly; to walk the walk, talk the talk and be a saint - a "beAst." for Christ! The reasoning behind this platform I built was because I believed that the many problems of our those times could be solved by heroic men and women living their faith, growing in holiness and producing more saints! Charlie's witness has reignited that fire in me and so many others! He embodies this "beAst." message!

2,000 years ago they crucified a man for pursuing the perfect will of God, teaching others to do the same and speaking these truths boldly. While evil has taken on many forms over the millennia, the solution remains the same: JESUS CHRIST. "The father of lies" will continue to deceive, kill & destroy (often targeting the family and the value of human life). Pursue our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of your heart, soul, strength and mind, just as Charlie Kirk and Max Kolbe did. Love God above all else; seek Him first; grow in holiness and virtue; embrace the cross when they hate you for it (since they hated Jesus for it first)! Be encouraged and let your light shine - Jesus Christ is the answer and remains on the throne!

VIVA CRISTO REY!

"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." - Matt 5:11-12
